Posted about this research before, but not with MOVING IMAGES! I so much like the second column!! So this is what a computer thinks my brain sees. I am pretty glad the face in the first is not recognizable, the text in the second is not readable and the color in the third is off. Much prettier that way!

I can’t wait for this to become much more precise. I would love to record some of my dreams.

No one should be profiting from publicly funded research; especially in an age where very little, to no overhead is possible. 350 years ago it made sense to charge for published articles, sure, printing presses where huge, complicated, and required immense amounts of manual labor. Today however, anyone can acquire sever space and build a website to allow for the lookup and retrieval of information. If the bandwidth of the server becomes overwhelming, taking up BitTorrent can help alleviate some of the pressures from downloads.

There is no reason for a publisher to own the copyright to any work made by any person. If the individual is concerned about infringement, they can claim copyright on their own. Either through the Copyright Office or Creative Commons.

Everyone deserves to create, run, and maintain a successful business. Just as everyone deserves to have access to information. Sometimes information should cost money—say in the form of a Kelby Training or Lynda membership—but for publicly funded research, that information should be free. To everyone. And just because you can create a business, doesn’t mean you should.
